False Prophet |
| Do not rely upon this book for your financial future. Robert Kiyosaki does not preach sound principles of finance and is a highly paid spokesperson for Amway, hence his recommendation of MLM-type business as a wise pursuit. His "rich Dad" is a fictional character, and he feels he has not mislead anyone to follow a fictional financial success story anymore than Rowling has deceived anyone by creating Harry Potter. However, few people really expect to attend Hogwarts, whereas all too many people expect to find financial success by emulating fictional "Rich Dad". You would do better to check out James Cramer's books. |

Richie Rich's Guide to Investing ... |
Quick quiz ... which Author holds the Guiness World Record for using the word "Rich" the most number of times in his Book? Guess ... don't know? Think again ... There you go ... You are right! It is our ... Mr Robert T. Kiyosaki.
This is one more get rich quick book written by Mr Robert T Kiyosaki in his "Rich Dad" series. The book(written in pre-dot-com-bust era) primarily promises to teach you high risk, high return techniques like Options trading but ends up teaching you how to start a business and sell it in the IPO market.
However critical I am of Mr Robert T Kiyosaki of his flamboyant boastful style, I like him for his motivation quality. I categorize him in a totally new category of Authors "Financial Motivational Author". He has this amazing quality of triggering the burning desire of becoming rich in your belly.
In this book, he provides guidance on how to become rich by becoming a self-bosser i.e. by starting a business and selling it in the IPO market. Even if you are not interested in starting a business, this book provides lots of nice advise throughout the book. Some of the suggestions I liked ...
=> No Risk, No Gain
=> It is okay to borrow as long it is for investment purposes.
=> Invest via business to maximize your return.
=> Be a sophisticated investor by acquiring Education, Experience & Excessive cash.
=> Learning to be a sophisticated investor is like learning to ride a bike ... You have to take risk of falling before you learn to ride it.
=> Don't get attached to investments. Use them like your "super fast vehicles" to get where you want to be financially.
=> Make money work for you!
=> Always maintain your current personal financial statements!
=> Build great business systems(not necessarily great products).
Overall, it is nice read ... I would highly recommend it ...
