Excellent BEGINNING Machine Quilter Resource |
If you can only get 5 books to teach you all about quilting, this should be one of the 5. It is an excellent source for a new to quilting-TOTALLY beginner. As the other reviews here say, if you have some machine quilting under your belt (hands) than this will somewhat be redundant.
The way the book is laid out and written is superb. Easy to understand in laymans terms, very good glossary and again as mentioned in one other review, the thread and needle charts are very good and pertinent to continuing up the ladder in machine quilting. This book gives you step by step detailed instruction like following a pattern. The pictures are clear and just what she is talking about, you don't have to decipher anything.
If you know someone who is wanting to start machine quilting or you are going to self-teach yourself this art. This is the book to buy.

Good beginning machine quilting book |
| Machine quilting takes practice... This book presents the beginnner good exercises to start on the journey of learning how to machine quilt..however,if you have already done some machine quilting, and are not a brand new beginner, don't bother to buy this book..buy Harriet Hargrove's book, or Sue Nickel's book, or Diane Gaudynski's book to really help you in learning free motion quilting beyond the basics. |
