| I was recently diagnosed as having hypoglycemia. My physician recommeded reading some books on this subject and scheduling an appointment with a nutritionist. She had recommeded this book along with hypoglycemia for dummies. These two books have given me options as far as what I should be eating to maintain my glucose levels during the course of my day as well as giving me options as no food is "off limits". If you're in a similar situation or even just want to lose weight, without starvation, this is the book! |

| I had to write this review to counter the other review - this is a "pocket guide" - a small book packed with the information needed to understand glycemic index and what it means in your everyday diet. This book was never meant to be a complete guide but does offer an easy to understand review of glycemic index, a weekly meal plan, substitutes to normally consumed foods, snacks and snacking tips and a small table of GI values. I found it amazingly complete and very informative for the price - a good place to start!! |

| I'd hoped this book would help me make good choices with foods on a low to med carb diet. However, there are big gaps in the foods it lists and is generally pretty useless. |
